The Best Experience this Semester

Along this semester, I had to do a lot of homework and models and project developments, but to be honest, and I know sometimes I arrive a little bit late and all of that, but I really enjoy the English Class, so therefore of course I enjoy writing in the blog, but sometimes is a little bit difficult to know what to write, because for example I am not a “traveler” so I do not have so much travel stories or experiences to talk about, so I think those post were the most difficult for me to write. But at the end I really enjoy writing anything on my blog, because is nice to think in a memory and try to make an interesting story to write later, and accompany the post with some photos is my favorite part, because photos are the eternal evidence of the moments in life, the possibility of watch a picture and travel to that moment with your mind, is for me something great, so that is why I always try to put a picture or a photo took by myself in every post I do, because I think that is more easy to understand or imagine the story in the post when you see a picture.

I think my favorite post was the one when we had to write about our weekend, because it just coincided that weekend I went with my Bf to a beautiful park and walk together through the trees, and then we laid down in the grass so quiet and talking without the worry of arrive home quick to continue doing a work for university or something like that, because we decided that afternoon to do not think in anything else than be quiet in a park together J But I also enjoyed writing every post I did, because in every post I try to do my best and write the best story I can, and of course I know this semester I did not commented so much on my classmates blogs, but I really think that every blog is a beautiful way to know better every one of them.

This semester was not that great for me in every subject I took, but I am the kind of guy that stay with the good things, and one of that was the blog experience, because writing every Friday a story on my blog was my kind of mantra to free my mind from the oppression of the other subjects. I am very sure the next semester will be 100 times better, and I cannot imagine what the future will have for me, but I am sure of just one thing, I will try to have fun in everything, think positive and learn the most I can, and of course I will miss the English Class but I keep with the best memories of this J

A Trip with a Purpose

I am not sure now, but I am starting to believe this blog is turning into a “Travelers Guide”, because I have had to do a lot of posts related to travel experiences, visit other cities in the world and things like that lol. Anyway, the post of this week is about visiting a city I would like, and to be honest I have been the kind of guy “in love with big cities” all my life, so therefore, the dreamed cities to visit for me are New York, Paris, London, Tokyo and every typical big city you see in the brochures of the Travel Agencies lol. But this last time, honestly, I do not feel like myself, the career is so heavy in the shoulders at this time and I am tired so I do not feel like I am being myself right now L So to try to complete this post, I can talk about the cities anyone want to visit, maybe because they do not have the biggest monuments, or maybe they are chaotic or with pollution, or maybe the safety is bad. Anyway, when I hear people talking about a catastrophe happening in a big popular city and how dismayed they are about that tragedy, and putting a flag filter on their profile picture of Facebook, and all the News talking about that city, I just think about the tragedies happening in the little cities and towns that nobody cares, like the kids that are dying of starvation in Africa, the extreme poverty of Haiti, the sexual exploitation of children in India, the rising rate of child prostitution in China, the bombing of the last hospitals in Syria with newborns inside, and nobody talk about that, nobody put a filter of that in their profile picture of Facebook. I am not trying to put one situation on top of another one, I do not think that is more important to think in one tragedy instead of another one, simply I think what it is bad is that people sometime tend to care about what they think is more important only because the television and media tells that that is more important than other stuff, and it feels terrible that people tend to think that there is people more important that other ones L and it does not matter how much people talk about that, but how much people really care about that situation and is able to do something to end with it. I do not consider myself as a “change agent” but someday I would like to go to a place to help in what is needed, maybe it helps even more than just share a news in a social media.

Memories with a Sweet Flavor

In my country, every special celebration is related to food, maybe a delicious lunch, or a gourmet dinner, why not a brunch or just a simple meal with friends, or just your couple, or why not the whole family. The point is that always the celebration is about get together and eat something with some drinks and a good conversation, and of course in my life, I have had a lot of them, but today I want to remember one in particular. This was a few months ago when my Bf and I went to visit my sister and stay a few days in her home, and I remember this visit like so special because we had a really good weekend with her and her couple Alex, who is a very special family member fo me too. A good moment of the weekend was the Saturday afternoon when my sister, my Bf and I painted our nails, and I had the chance to talk a lot with my sister about our lives today and about the future and our short-terms life plans. It was such a good moment because I do not see my family very often, so that kind of conversation are really important for me and of course is good to keep them in my mind for a long time, because when sometimes the struggle is more heavy, I try to remember those moments to give force to myself. Later that afternoon, we drank a good cup of homemade Chai Tea, and I know right that this post is about a meal or something like that, but that afternoon that Tea was all the meal we needed to make things perfect, and trust in me when I say the tea was delicious, and I think it was the best end of an special afternoon with my sister, and that is the kind of memories I always try to keep in my mind, the ones that makes you feel happier the next day.

The Fabulous Chai Tea of my sister!

Everyone is a Little Piece on my Story

To be honest, I consider myself a very sociable person and in the course of my life, I always have been rounded of friends. Of course people I consider my friends are the ones that I know good and with have been working in a friendship. But with the pass of the time, sadly I had lost contact with a lot of them, mostly the friends that I made at school, which is very sad for me because I used to be very close with them, and today I talk only with one –which is my very best friend of life, Camila- I prefer to attribute this situation to the fact that I moved to a new city to continue my studies, but I know today is hard to lost contact with someone because there is a lot of ways to keep that contact, so that is why is so sad for me, because know is not the distance, but the disinterest.

But we all know every cloud has a silver lining, so here at university I made a lot of new good friends, and I share with them every day, even I have a beautiful friendship with one –Viviana- and sometimes I go to sleep to her house and we study together or sometimes just chill and drink some beer J But my best friend today is my Bf, and I know everybody say this, but I mean it, he is my best friend because I never met someone like him. Remember the first time we talk, it was here in FAU, because he also studies architecture, and it was cool because we spend a lot of time talking about many things we have in common –things I thought never would talk with someone so openly- and I think what I like the most of spending my time with my boyfriend Denis is that I can be myself completely with him, and express my feeling with totally freedom, and I think that is something really important in every relationship, not just in love but in every friendship, and that is why I would love to have him in my life forever –I know it sounds like a psycho- but I mean it too, if one day we take different paths, I would love to keep the contact with him.

So is exciting for me after writing this to think about how life changes every day, and while I am getting older I am meeting new people every day also, ones just pass and other ones stay forever with me, making my life funny and more interesting every moment, and showing me that there is a lot of new thing to know out there, and I can wait to see all of them!

I'll look for some pics to put here later...

Magic Places into the South Forest

When I was still in my senior year at school, my class and I went to the south of the country, under the traditional educational journey that every senior class does in every school in Chile. We went specifically to Pucón, in the IX region of La Araucanía, and it was such an amazing trip, because we visited a lot of natural landmarks and beautiful places, and I have to recognize that I love the fact that almost every building there is built by wood and stone, which makes the village even more magic and beautiful.
The landmarks I think are important to remember now are the Villarrica Volcano, the Caburgua Lake and the ‘Ojos del Caburga’ water wells. All of these are very close one from each other, and the environment that involve this places is amazingly beautiful, because all the nature is mixed with bright colors and also an infinite peace, which makes the perfect mixture for a natural landscape. The day we went to the water wells was the same we went to the Caburgua Lake, and it was great because to arrive to the water wells we had to take a bus first and then walk trough the Valdivian Forest, which has a beautiful flora and fauna. The water wells -Ojos del Caburgua- has crystalline blue water that allows you to see the riverbed that also has an incredible native flora that has the ability to live under the water and also out of it when the water wells are more empty. It was such an amazing experience to be there and also the day was so sunny, which was perfect to do a great tour. In the case of the Villarrica Volcano, we didn’t visit it properly such, but we had an amazing view of it from almost every point we went, so it was amazing too. Pucón is definitively a destiny I totally recommend!

Design Passion

When I think about something that passionate me, in the last time I think, I only spend my time working for the university, and that makes me feel so bad. A long time ago, when I still was in the school I used to be really interested in the clothing design, I used to do a lot of draws and sketches of men and women wearing some of my creations like the fashion designers do, but later I lost the interest. I also felt an interest in the interior design, and now that I am in architecture career, I feel that I can develop that interest and maybe transform it into a passion, and why not, something with what I can earn money. What really catches my attention about interior design is that you have to be so careful with the details, and that is what makes the difference between one design and another, and that is something I think is amazing, how something so small can do a big difference. Last month I went with my bf to the Bicentenario Park, and when we were walking back to take the bus, we saw several stores that sells design furniture and even some of them sells luxury furniture, and all the staff was amazingly beautiful, and it makes me think about how cool would be a furniture designer also, so now I think that I have to more thinks I would like to do in the future… but only the future will say!

Great Times Two Summers Ago!

I have to be honest, I do not travel so much, because I have to recognize I hate buses and I had never fly, and also because traveling is a little bit expensive. But of course, sometimes you can join to other people and go to cities and places trying to spend the less money as you can, but I did not do that neither. So the last time I had a holiday and travel to another city was two summers ago (it sounds a lot) and it was with my bf, we went to Los Vilos in the IV region of our country, to visit a good friend we made here in FAU, and stay a week in her house. It was such a good adventure because my bf and I had the chance to meet her hometown, and her friends of childhood, such amazing and friendly people; we got a party at the beach and we drunk and share with a lot of people and that was amazing too. We also met there with another friend of FAU, I think that was in our fifth day there, and it was amazing too, because that day we went together to the Natural Reservoir of Laguna Conchalí where we could see a few native birds of the area, and it was great too because I love animals and is amazing to see new species. Our last day there, my friend, my bf and two more friends, Loreto and her sister Constanza, who also study here in Santiago, but not in FAU, and also live there in Los Vilos, went together to the dunes of the town, and it was so funny because we walk up to the top of the dunes (of sand) and then we roll down and we did it a few times until we realized we had sand in all our bodies, even in parts where you must not have sand lol. Anyway our trip to Los Vilos was amazing, we met a lot of new people, had a great time with our friends, and met a lot of new beautiful places. Stunning!

That is me in the National Reservoir!

That was the day we went to the dunes.

Fiestas Patrias are weird

Since I was a child the “Fiestas Patrias” in my family has been always celebrated in family, I mean with more persons of my family, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., but with the pass of the years these traditional reunions of my father’s family has become less frequent, and luckily for me this is quite so good because I really enjoy a quiet party instead of a big party with a lot of music I do not like or drunk uncles asking me silly stuff about my career (I know it! I am an embittered old boy). Anyway this year I went to my hometown to visit my family, and it was very good because we reunited on my sister’s place and ate some “Chilean food” (which for me is just a bunch of lies because all those food is introduced to our country and “Chilean culture”) and drunk some wine, I love wine, and of course the classic of this parties, Terremoto. To be honest, eating and drinking all of that was the worst decision of my current year because I finally ended on my sister’s bathroom throwing out L. So that is why I personally do not enjoy so much this National Parties, because I think is a silly excuse of people to getting drunk and eat like if there is no tomorrow and some others even more irresponsible drives drunk thinking they has all the control, but they end in a car crush killing innocent people. To be honest this Fiestas Patrias for me was a one-day celebration, and it was enough, and then I keep one more day with my mother and after that I returned to Santiago, to meet with my bf and take advantage of the free days.
Another thing I did the free week after parties, I went with my classmates of workshop to Valparaiso to get some information about Monjas Hills and its elevator. It was very funny and good, I had the chance to share a little bit more with my classmates and after the investigation, we went to a restaurant and ate Chorrillana and drunk some beer, and we laughed a lot.

This is a picture I took of two beautiful friends in Valparaiso.

What a Good Weekend!

The last weekend was quiet so great because my boyfriend and I went to buy my ticket to travel to my hometown while the national holidays. But after that we decided to do something different that afternoon, because of yes, lol we both knew that a lot of work was waiting in home but anyway we decided to go to a park we have not visited yet and finally we decided to go to the Bicentenario Park, because we were relatively near and it complied with the rule of have not been visited before. The decision was pretty good because the park is beautiful, quiet so big and with a gorgeous landscaping work. What I liked the most was the bird’s lagoon, it was beautiful and OMG! I met the flamingos for the first time!! What a extremely beautiful bird, those rose pink feathers was everything for me. Something I hope of the lagoon is to have a good maintenance because all those birds must demand a lot of job. Anyway the visit to the park was amazing and since a long time ago my Bf and I did not went out together; Another thing I thought after the visit to the park was that it would be nice that if the quality of Bicentenario Park should be present in all the green public areas of the city, I hope in the future I could do something as an architect with that situation, because I think that it happens not just for a money thing, it is more a volunteer absent for the authorities, and that is something very unfair for the people who finally enjoy the public spaces, and I keep thinking in something to do with that!

A Concert to Remember for Life

To be honest I am not a concert guy, so that is why I don’t go so often to concerts or band exhibitions, but I remember very nicely the time when I went to a big concert and I ended having a meet and greet with the artist. It was in 2014, in my first year of university, and I went with my friends that I made here in FAU, so the concert started very early in the morning, I remember that I woke up that day like 7:00 A.M. to reach the bus that brought me and my friends to the concert, in the periphery of the city, here in Santiago. So we arrived to the place, and of course as in every concert we first had to queue up to get in, and once in the main stage we reunited with other friends who arrived later than us. The artist were all so good, I was not fan of all of them, but once you are in a concert, you just enjoy the music and the ambient. So when the afternoon arrived, I received a Facebook message from an stranger guy, It was weird at the beginning but I asked him what does he wanted, and he told me that he and I won a meet and greet with Icona Pop, one of the bands of the concert, and I was like “are you kidding me?” and I really could not believe it, but he also told me that he contacted me because he was not yet in, so he wanted that I look for more information with the staff. So I did it, and they corroborated me the information, and in that moment I reached the heaven LOL. So finally a member of the stuff  went along with me to the backstage where the girls of Icona Pop were, and the guy who contacted me through Facebook never arrived and I told the stuff that he also won the meet and greet in case he arrive late, but finally he never arrived so I get into the backstage alone. Once in there I met the girls, they was so lovely with me, we took pictures together and they asked me a lot of thing like “who’s in the concert with you?” or “why you like our music?” and it was a really good time, and since that day I changed my perception of the bands, musicians and famous people, because being in a room with the girls of Icona Pop and talk with them and share some experiences like if we were friend of all life, made me see that there is some artist who are incredibly simple persons who does not matter who you are or how much money you have, they will treat you like just they way they like to be treated, and that is something cool.

The girls being so cool with Me!

The Drag Queen’s American Dream

Today I am glad to talk about a TV reality I am in love right now. I know in the gay culture is common to feel attraction to the obscene, the erotic, the beauty and art or simply to the weird and different things, and of course across the history there have been a lot of people who impersonated all that concepts in one or another way. In the last year the drag queen culture has become very popular, not only into gay community, also the non-gay people have been very into this artistic manifestation. So coming back to the TV reality, I want to talk about RuPaul’s Drag Race. This is a television program hosted by the Drag Superstar RuPaul, about a competition of drag queens to win a big supply of makeup (sponsored by Anastacia Beverly Hills Cosmetics) and a cash prize of US$100.000. It sounds like the American dream for any drag queen or any artist in the world, and I know a lot of people dreams to get selected into the competition and of course win the big prize. The competition consists in a weekly mini-challenge to deliberate the teams where the 14 contestants are going to be grouped to compete later in the main challenge of the week. The challenges are always about impersonate, doing makeup, fashion runway shows or singing/acting, and after the judges’ critics, one of the contestants is eliminated. I am not a very interested in TV reality guy, but this one is very funny for me, I have seen 5 seasons of the show, but it has 9 in total, with 2 especial seasons called “All-Stars” that recruit the contestants among the queens of all the seasons past. Is very impressive that all the queens that participate in the show, even if they do not win, the becomes very famous, and even some of the queen make world tours later with their own shows like singing, acting, dancing, etc. I really recommend the show and it is available in Netflix!

An Art Life

In my life, I’ve been always in the mood of doing something more artistic in the place of anything else. I do not consider myself as a sporty guy, and even less a “mathtlete”, but If I  have to think about something I like, I would say art is the topic I feel into. I use to paint, but unfortunately I do not have a picture of my works to prove it, because all the works I did was in the school, and maybe there may be a few of them archived there. Another thing I like to do is drawing, and maybe I think I should draw perfect sketches for workshop, but I do not L I prefer to draw bodies, the female body is something beautiful to draw, and the male body is the heaven for me LOL. Sometimes I feel in the mood of a fashion designer and I tend to create dresses like a kind of Karl Lagerfeld, and I really enjoy it, but of course it just remains in the paper. And in the last time something else I discovered I really enjoy doing is “beat my face”, which means get some makeup on in the drag queen lingo, and I really like to do that, because is something new for me and even better than that is that all the makeup I have was given from my mother, and I really appreciate that because a few years ago I would never think the idea of my mother giving me a lipstick and a mascara, it was a very lovely and beautiful detail of her (I love you mom). I also like to go to exhibitions in the museum, and the last I really liked was a light show from the chilean visual artist Ivan Navarro, I really like his work and I also recommend him. And in that exhibition I discovered m my incipient passion of photography, I would love to make a photography course to perfectionate that skill.

So if I have to make a review of everything, I would say that in my entire life I always have been involved into the art world, maybe because my sister was always an influence in that way for me and maybe because I consider that beauty is everywhere we want to see it, and I think art is about that, to feel and believe in beauty to finally see it. Oh, and I also consider that my career is art too, because everything we do in workshop, perception, or another class, is a composition of pieces that we finally see as art, a piece of art made with our own hands, and I really like that, maybe that is why I always wanted to study architecture.

I will post picture of this later when I find some.J
