Fiestas Patrias are weird

Since I was a child the “Fiestas Patrias” in my family has been always celebrated in family, I mean with more persons of my family, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., but with the pass of the years these traditional reunions of my father’s family has become less frequent, and luckily for me this is quite so good because I really enjoy a quiet party instead of a big party with a lot of music I do not like or drunk uncles asking me silly stuff about my career (I know it! I am an embittered old boy). Anyway this year I went to my hometown to visit my family, and it was very good because we reunited on my sister’s place and ate some “Chilean food” (which for me is just a bunch of lies because all those food is introduced to our country and “Chilean culture”) and drunk some wine, I love wine, and of course the classic of this parties, Terremoto. To be honest, eating and drinking all of that was the worst decision of my current year because I finally ended on my sister’s bathroom throwing out L. So that is why I personally do not enjoy so much this National Parties, because I think is a silly excuse of people to getting drunk and eat like if there is no tomorrow and some others even more irresponsible drives drunk thinking they has all the control, but they end in a car crush killing innocent people. To be honest this Fiestas Patrias for me was a one-day celebration, and it was enough, and then I keep one more day with my mother and after that I returned to Santiago, to meet with my bf and take advantage of the free days.
Another thing I did the free week after parties, I went with my classmates of workshop to Valparaiso to get some information about Monjas Hills and its elevator. It was very funny and good, I had the chance to share a little bit more with my classmates and after the investigation, we went to a restaurant and ate Chorrillana and drunk some beer, and we laughed a lot.

What a Good Weekend!

The last weekend was quiet so great because my boyfriend and I went to buy my ticket to travel to my hometown while the national holidays. But after that we decided to do something different that afternoon, because of yes, lol we both knew that a lot of work was waiting in home but anyway we decided to go to a park we have not visited yet and finally we decided to go to the Bicentenario Park, because we were relatively near and it complied with the rule of have not been visited before. The decision was pretty good because the park is beautiful, quiet so big and with a gorgeous landscaping work. What I liked the most was the bird’s lagoon, it was beautiful and OMG! I met the flamingos for the first time!! What a extremely beautiful bird, those rose pink feathers was everything for me. Something I hope of the lagoon is to have a good maintenance because all those birds must demand a lot of job. Anyway the visit to the park was amazing and since a long time ago my Bf and I did not went out together; Another thing I thought after the visit to the park was that it would be nice that if the quality of Bicentenario Park should be present in all the green public areas of the city, I hope in the future I could do something as an architect with that situation, because I think that it happens not just for a money thing, it is more a volunteer absent for the authorities, and that is something very unfair for the people who finally enjoy the public spaces, and I keep thinking in something to do with that!

A Concert to Remember for Life

To be honest I am not a concert guy, so that is why I don’t go so often to concerts or band exhibitions, but I remember very nicely the time when I went to a big concert and I ended having a meet and greet with the artist. It was in 2014, in my first year of university, and I went with my friends that I made here in FAU, so the concert started very early in the morning, I remember that I woke up that day like 7:00 A.M. to reach the bus that brought me and my friends to the concert, in the periphery of the city, here in Santiago. So we arrived to the place, and of course as in every concert we first had to queue up to get in, and once in the main stage we reunited with other friends who arrived later than us. The artist were all so good, I was not fan of all of them, but once you are in a concert, you just enjoy the music and the ambient. So when the afternoon arrived, I received a Facebook message from an stranger guy, It was weird at the beginning but I asked him what does he wanted, and he told me that he and I won a meet and greet with Icona Pop, one of the bands of the concert, and I was like “are you kidding me?” and I really could not believe it, but he also told me that he contacted me because he was not yet in, so he wanted that I look for more information with the staff. So I did it, and they corroborated me the information, and in that moment I reached the heaven LOL. So finally a member of the stuff  went along with me to the backstage where the girls of Icona Pop were, and the guy who contacted me through Facebook never arrived and I told the stuff that he also won the meet and greet in case he arrive late, but finally he never arrived so I get into the backstage alone. Once in there I met the girls, they was so lovely with me, we took pictures together and they asked me a lot of thing like “who’s in the concert with you?” or “why you like our music?” and it was a really good time, and since that day I changed my perception of the bands, musicians and famous people, because being in a room with the girls of Icona Pop and talk with them and share some experiences like if we were friend of all life, made me see that there is some artist who are incredibly simple persons who does not matter who you are or how much money you have, they will treat you like just they way they like to be treated, and that is something cool.

The girls being so cool with Me!

The Drag Queen’s American Dream

Today I am glad to talk about a TV reality I am in love right now. I know in the gay culture is common to feel attraction to the obscene, the erotic, the beauty and art or simply to the weird and different things, and of course across the history there have been a lot of people who impersonated all that concepts in one or another way. In the last year the drag queen culture has become very popular, not only into gay community, also the non-gay people have been very into this artistic manifestation. So coming back to the TV reality, I want to talk about RuPaul’s Drag Race. This is a television program hosted by the Drag Superstar RuPaul, about a competition of drag queens to win a big supply of makeup (sponsored by Anastacia Beverly Hills Cosmetics) and a cash prize of US$100.000. It sounds like the American dream for any drag queen or any artist in the world, and I know a lot of people dreams to get selected into the competition and of course win the big prize. The competition consists in a weekly mini-challenge to deliberate the teams where the 14 contestants are going to be grouped to compete later in the main challenge of the week. The challenges are always about impersonate, doing makeup, fashion runway shows or singing/acting, and after the judges’ critics, one of the contestants is eliminated. I am not a very interested in TV reality guy, but this one is very funny for me, I have seen 5 seasons of the show, but it has 9 in total, with 2 especial seasons called “All-Stars” that recruit the contestants among the queens of all the seasons past. Is very impressive that all the queens that participate in the show, even if they do not win, the becomes very famous, and even some of the queen make world tours later with their own shows like singing, acting, dancing, etc. I really recommend the show and it is available in Netflix!
